IT2Green and Publications

Sunday, 08/22/2010, 18:56:54

IT2GreenIn the beginning of this year, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) started a funding programme called "IT2Green", in which the best project proposals about energy-efficient usage of ICT were selected and will be funded in the next years. In cooperation with a consortium, we submitted a project proposal a few months ago, which was selected for funding! The project will start in January or February 2011.
Due to the fact that I'm part of the project, I'm going to focus on "Green Computing" and try to establish this research area at our department.

Furthermore, I worked on five papers, which got accepted by the several workshop program committees. Here is the list of the workshops, I'm going to attend to:

Here, you can have a look at the publications.

The first three months at T-Labs

Sunday, 06/13/2010, 23:53:25

Deutsche Telekom LaboratoriesIt has been nearly three months since starting my new job at T-Labs back in April. And from day-to-day my job becomes more exciting.

At the moment, I mainly deal with networking and the acquisition of projects in the research fields of our department. Due to the fact that Service-centric Networking was established just 7 months ago in December 2009, we also work on equipping our rooms in the Franklin building of the Berlin University of Technology with workplaces and a network infrastructure, so that students as well as we can use these rooms in future. In order to be able to replace Prof. Küpper when needed, I also accompany him to his lecture "Mobile Services". And last but not least, I prepare papers for the upcoming workshops "HetRec 2010" and "SPIRIT 2010".

As you can see, I am pretty much heavily occupied and I learn a lot of things. I'm very excited about what the future might hold for me!

By the way: Other business profiles from me can be viewed on the websites of Service-centric Networking and the Deutsche Telekom Laboratories.

Master thesis = A+!

Thursday, 05/06/2010, 21:16:17

Today, I had to defend my Master thesis at Fraunhofer FOKUS. After presenting my thesis and answering a lot of questions, I got an A+ as a final grade! I'm so happy, because all my expections were exceeded.

Again, I want to thank my supervisor Christian Räck and Fabian Steinert for guiding and helping me during my Master thesis phase. Now being completely done, I can fully concentrate on my research activity at T-Labs!
